Sample questions

Three questions from the AD0-E907 practice bank, with the answer and why each option is right or wrong.

Question 1

A client project is shared with three agency teams. One task in it holds a confidential pricing file that only the account lead and the finance team may reach, and the agency teams keep the rest of the project. What should the project manager, who holds `Manage` on the task, do on that task?

  • A. Share the task with the agency teams at `View` to bring their inherited permission down.
  • B. Remove the three agency teams one at a time from the task's `Inherited Permissions` list.
  • C. Remove the three agency teams from the project, choosing the project and all its children.
  • D. Turn off `Inherited Permission` on the task, then share the task with the account lead and the finance team.

Answer: D. Child objects inherit the permissions of their parent. To limit one child, a user with `Manage` on it turns off its inherited permissions, for every inherited entity at once, then shares the child with the entities that need it. [2]

  • A. Wrong. Permissions inherited by a child cannot be restricted this way. The inherited permission from the project still applies to the task.
  • B. Wrong. Individual entities cannot be removed from the `Inherited Permissions` list. The setting can only be turned off for every entity listed.
  • C. Wrong. The teams would lose the project and every child object, and they must keep their access to the rest of the project.
  • D. Right. With inherited permissions off, no one shared on the project reaches the task by default, and only the entities listed on the task's own sharing get access.

Question 2

A central intake queue collects video requests. Each request must go to the Video Producer job role and must land on the video team's production project, not on the intake project. Which routing rule setup meets both needs?

  • A. Set `Default Team` to the Video Producer job role and `Route to Project` to the production project.
  • B. Set `Default Assignee` to two Video Producer users and `Route to Project` to the production project.
  • C. Set `Default Assignee` to the Video Producer job role and `Route to Project` to the production project.
  • D. Set `Default Assignee` to the Video Producer job role and pick the production project as the queue's `Default Route`.

Answer: C. A routing rule assigns new requests to one user or job role, one team, or both, and can add the issue to another project through `Route to Project`. The rule does nothing until someone selects it as a `Default Route`. [3]

  • A. Wrong. `Default Team` takes an active team. A job role belongs in `Default Assignee`.
  • B. Wrong. A routing rule holds only one default assignee, so two users cannot both sit in that field.
  • C. Right. `Default Assignee` takes one active user or one active job role, and `Route to Project` names the project where the issue is added.
  • D. Wrong. `Default Route` in `Queue Details` lists routing rules, not projects. The target project is set inside the rule.

Question 3

A sponsor wants to see how far a campaign project has drifted since approval. The scope agreed at approval lives in a custom form field, Deliverable count, and the PMO plans to rely on project baselines for the comparison. What applies to this plan?

  • A. A baseline will show the approval value of Deliverable count, because baselines copy every field on the project.
  • B. A baseline will show the approval value of Deliverable count only in a Baseline Task report, not in a Baseline report.
  • C. A baseline will not show the approval value of Deliverable count, because baselines do not include custom field values.

Answer: C. A baseline is a project snapshot of name, dates and financial information, with task information on its baseline tasks. Custom field values are not part of it, so scope held in a custom field needs another way to be tracked. [4]

  • A. Wrong. A baseline holds the name, dates and financial information of the project. Custom field values are left out.
  • B. Wrong. Baseline Task reports show task information captured with the baseline. Neither report brings back custom field values, since the snapshot never held them.
  • C. Right. A baseline takes a snapshot of the project's name, dates and financial information, and it does not include the values of custom fields on the project.
