Sample questions

Three questions from the AD0-E725 practice bank, with the answer and why each option is right or wrong.

Question 1

A storefront on premises runs Varnish. After a theme module is deployed, no page is served from the full page cache, the home page and CMS pages included. The module's `default.xml` layout declares a promotional banner block with `cacheable="false"`. Which change brings back full page caching across the site?

  • A. Remove `cacheable="false"` from the banner block in `default.xml`
  • B. Add a `ttl` attribute to the banner block next to `cacheable="false"`
  • C. Raise `TTL for public content` in the Full Page Cache settings
  • D. Clean the `layout` cache type with `bin/magento cache:clean layout`

Answer: A. Adobe Commerce disables page caching when the layout holds at least one block with `cacheable="false"`. Declared in `default.xml`, that attribute switches caching off for every page of the site. [2]

  • A. Right. `default.xml` applies to every page, so one uncacheable block declared there disables caching for the whole site. Removing the attribute lets pages cache again.
  • B. Wrong. The block keeps `cacheable="false"`, and one uncacheable block still stops its page from being cached, on every page that loads `default.xml`.
  • C. Wrong. The TTL sets how long cacheable pages live. Pages holding an uncacheable block are never stored, whatever the TTL.
  • D. Wrong. Cleaning the layout cache removes the compiled page layouts. The layout built again still carries the uncacheable block on every page.

Question 2

A tax compliance service reads products from Catalog Service and needs each product's tax class name, attribute set name and cart quantity limits. The store runs Adobe Commerce 2.4.7 with Data Export 103.4.11, and the merchant wants no custom module for this. What should the developer do?

  • A. Add `tax_class_id` and `attribute_set_id` to the `systemAttributes` argument of `ProductAttributeQuery` in `di.xml`
  • B. Install `adobe-commerce/module-extra-product-attributes` with Composer, then resync the `products` and `productAttributes` feeds
  • C. Add an `afterGet` plugin on the products `Attributes` provider that appends the three values to each product

Answer: B. On Adobe Commerce 2.4.4 and later with Data Export 103.4.11 or later, the Extra Product Attributes module adds the tax class name, the attribute set name and inventory settings such as `cartMinQty` and `cartMaxQty` to the products feed. Once installed, it exports them during product sync on its own. [3]

  • A. Wrong. Extending `systemAttributes` means changing `di.xml` in a module, and the merchant wants no custom module for this.
  • B. Right. The Extra Product Attributes module adds `ac_tax_class`, `ac_attribute_set` and `ac_inventory` to the products feed and their metadata to `productAttributes`. It needs no configuration once installed.
  • C. Wrong. A plugin on the `Attributes` provider is code in a custom module. The packaged module already exports the tax class, the attribute set and the inventory settings.

Question 3

A data patch adds the product attribute `warranty_code` with `addAttribute()`. The options array sets `type`, `label`, `input` and `group`, and nothing else. After `bin/magento setup:upgrade`, administrators cannot save existing products until they fill in the new value. Which change to the options array fixes this?

  • A. Set `system` to 0
  • B. Set `required` to 0
  • C. Set `is_used_in_grid` to 1
  • D. Set `global` to 0

Answer: B. Left out of the options array, `required` takes its default of 1 for a product attribute. A patch that wants an optional value sets it to 0. [4]

  • A. Wrong. `system` declares a system attribute. It has no part in whether a value is mandatory, and `required` still defaults to 1.
  • B. Right. Left out of the array, `required` takes its default of 1, so the attribute is mandatory. At 0 the value becomes optional on the product form.
  • C. Wrong. `is_used_in_grid` lets the Admin product grid use the attribute. The value stays mandatory because `required` still defaults to 1.
  • D. Wrong. `global` sets the attribute's scope. Changing it leaves `required` at its default of 1, so the value is still mandatory.
