Sample questions

Three questions from the AD0-E724 practice bank, with the answer and why each option is right or wrong.

Question 1

Where should a developer place the code base of a custom module?

  • A. `app/design/<Vendor>/<Module>`
  • B. `lib/<Vendor>/<Module>`
  • C. `app/code/<Vendor>/<Module>`

Answer: C. Custom module code lives in `app/code/<Vendor>/<Module>`. Storefront theme files go under `app/design/frontend`, and libraries go under `lib`. [2]

  • A. Wrong. The `app/design` tree holds theme files, for example storefront themes in `app/design/frontend/<Vendor>/<theme>`. Module code does not go there.
  • B. Wrong. The `lib` directory is where a library goes, in the form `lib/<Vendor_Library>`. A custom module has its own location under `app/code`.
  • C. Right. The location table for components puts the code base of a custom module in `app/code/<Vendor>/<Module>`, under the installation root.

Question 2

A configurable product has three child products priced 40.00, 45.00 and 50.00, all In Stock. An administrator entered 60.00 in the parent's `Price` field when creating it. Where does the price shown to shoppers come from?

  • A. The `Price` value saved on the parent product
  • B. The child products that are In Stock
  • C. All of the child products, in stock or not

Answer: B. A configurable product does not have its own price in the catalog. Whatever is entered on the parent is overridden, and the displayed price comes from the child products that are In Stock. [3]

  • A. Wrong. The child product prices override the parent's `Price` value, so the 60.00 entered on the parent is never shown.
  • B. Right. A configurable product has no catalog price of its own. The price shoppers see comes from its In Stock child products.
  • C. Wrong. Stock status matters here. Only the In Stock child products set the displayed price, so a child that is out of stock adds nothing.

Question 3

How many active integration environments can a Starter project have?

  • A. One
  • B. As many as the team creates
  • C. Two
  • D. Four

Answer: C. The Starter architecture supports up to four environments: `master` for Production, Staging, and up to two integration environments. Inactive branches for code storage are unlimited. [4]

  • A. Wrong. One active integration environment is too few. Starter allows a second one.
  • B. Wrong. Inactive branches are unlimited, but only two integration environments can be active at once.
  • C. Right. A Starter project allows up to two active integration environments, next to `master` and Staging.
  • D. Wrong. Four is the total of environments in the Starter architecture, Production and Staging included, not the integration count.
