Sample questions
Three questions from the AD0-E330 practice bank, with the answer and why each option is right or wrong.
Question 1
An on-premise Adobe Campaign Classic server hosts two instances, `prod` and `uat`. Both use the value of a parameter set in `serverConf.xml`, but `uat` alone now needs a different value. What should the administrator do?
- A. Set the parameter in `config-uat.xml`, since a value there takes priority over `serverConf.xml`
- B. Copy `serverConf.xml` into the folder of the `uat` instance and edit the copy
- C. Set the parameter in `config-default.xml`, since that file overrides `serverConf.xml` for each instance
- D. Set the parameter in `serverConf.xml` inside a node named after the `uat` instance
Answer: A. Adobe Campaign Classic reads serverConf.xml for the settings every instance shares, then config-<instance_name>.xml. Both files use the same format, and the instance file wins, so an override for one instance belongs in its own file. [2]
- A. Right. A module loads serverConf.xml first, then config-<instance_name>.xml. Values in the instance file have priority, and any serverConf.xml value can be overloaded there.
- B. Wrong. The configuration lives in the conf directory of the installation: serverConf.xml for all instances and config-<instance_name>.xml for each one. A copied file has no place in that loading order.
- C. Wrong. config-default.xml is where the processes shared by all instances, such as web, are enabled. It is not the file for a uat only value.
- D. Wrong. serverConf.xml holds the parameters shared by all instances. A value for one instance goes in that instance's own configuration file.
Question 2
A custom store schema in Adobe Campaign Classic has a `region` field. Operators must be able to add new region values themselves in the interface, with no change to the schema. Which attribute should the developer set on the field?
- A. `userEnum`, naming an open enumeration
- B. `dbEnum`, naming a closed enumeration
- C. `enum`, naming an enumeration inserted in a schema
- D. `dataPolicy`, set to `identifier`
Answer: A. Enumerations differ by who owns the values. `dbEnum` and `enum` point to values written in schemas, so a new value needs a schema change. `userEnum` points to an open enumeration whose values operators add in the interface. [3]
- A. Right. `userEnum` takes the internal name of an open enumeration, and the user can define its values in the interface.
- B. Wrong. `dbEnum` takes a closed enumeration, and its values must be defined in the `srcSchema`. A new region would need a schema change.
- C. Wrong. `enum` links the field to an enumeration inserted in the same schema or in a remote one, so a new value still means editing a schema.
- D. Wrong. `dataPolicy` sets approval constraints on the values allowed in the field, such as an identifier name. It offers no list of values.
Question 3
An on-premise Adobe Campaign Classic v7.4.1 instance has moved its operators to Adobe Identity Management System (IMS). The security team now wants the client console to stop anyone from creating, editing or deleting operators that use native authentication. What should the administrator set?
- A. The removal of the `ADMINISTRATION` named right from every operator group
- B. `nonIMSOperatorMgmtInClientConsoleRestricted` to true, in the `<imsConfig>` section of the instance configuration file
- C. `Connect with Adobe ID` on every operator in the client console
- D. `disableAPI` to true, in the `nonIMSAuthnAPI` element of the `<imsConfig>` section
Answer: B. After the move to Adobe IMS, an on-premise or hybrid instance restricts the client console with `nonIMSOperatorMgmtInClientConsoleRestricted` set to true in `<imsConfig>`, and the APIs with `disableAPI`. Hosted customers ask Adobe to enable the restriction. [4]
- A. Wrong. Named rights decide what each operator may do. The restriction on native operators in the client console comes from the instance configuration file.
- B. Right. With this option set to true, operators with native authentication can no longer be created, edited, updated or deleted from the client console.
- C. Wrong. Connect with Adobe ID lets an operator sign in with an Adobe ID. It does not lock the management of native operators in the client console.
- D. Wrong. disableAPI in the nonIMSAuthnAPI element restricts native authentication through the APIs. The client console restriction is a separate option.
