Sample questions
Three questions from the AD0-E216 practice bank, with the answer and why each option is right or wrong.
Question 1
An online furniture retailer tracks finding methods in an Adobe Analytics merchandising eVar with conversion variable syntax and Product View Event as the binding event. A shopper finds a sofa through internal search, views it again three days later from a category page and buys it. Which Allocation setting keeps the purchase credit with internal search?
- A. Original Value (First), because a product that is already bound keeps its value when a new value tries to bind
- B. Either setting, because Allocation does not apply once a product is bound to a value
- C. Most Recent (Last), because the purchase hit credits the value that bound to the sofa first in the shopper's history
Answer: A. Allocation on a merchandising eVar matters only when a product that is already bound receives another binding attempt. A shopper who finds a product one way and comes back to it another way is that case. Original Value (First) keeps the credit with the method that found the product first, and Adobe recommends it for product finding method eVars. [2]
- A. Right. With Original Value (First), the existing binding is kept when a new value tries to bind to a product that is already bound. The second product view is ignored for the sofa, so internal search keeps the purchase credit.
- B. Wrong. Allocation decides what happens when a new value tries to bind to a product that is already bound, and the sofa is already bound on its second product view.
- C. Wrong. With Most Recent (Last), the product rebinds to the new value. The second product view would rebind the sofa to the category value, and that value would receive the purchase credit.
Question 2
An administrator points a second daily Adobe Analytics data feed for a report suite at the same Amazon S3 folder as the first feed. The warehouse team now loads files with the wrong columns. What should the administrator change?
- A. Change the delivery path of one feed, since both feeds write the same file names.
- B. Change the name of one feed, since Adobe builds data feed file names from the feed name.
- C. Change the processing delay of one feed, since both feeds deliver their files together.
Answer: A. Adobe Analytics does not stop one data feed from overwriting another. Data feed file names carry the report suite ID and the export date, so any two feeds with the same report suite and dates produce the same names. Send each feed to its own path, or change the dates or the report suite where that is possible. [3]
- A. Right. Adobe builds data feed file names from the report suite ID and the export date. Two feeds for the same report suite and dates write the same file name, so in a shared location one file overwrites the other. Changing the delivery path is one of the workarounds Adobe lists.
- B. Wrong. The feed name is not part of the file name. File names come from the report suite ID and the export date, so renaming a feed leaves the clash in place.
- C. Wrong. A processing delay only sets how long Adobe waits before it processes a file. Both feeds still write the same file names to one location, so one file still overwrites the other.
Question 3
An analyst sees no Adobe Analytics traffic for new gift guide pages, although the team says every page is tagged. The analyst opens one page in Adobe Experience Platform Debugger. Which Summary screen entry shows where the organization sends the page's data?
- A. Page Name, which holds the pageName value sent with a hit
- B. Report Suite(s), which lists the report suites the page uses
- C. Modules, which lists the modules Adobe Analytics loaded
Answer: B. When a report suite shows nothing for a set of pages, first check where those pages send data. The Debugger opens on the Summary screen, and its Adobe Analytics section lists the report suites the page uses. Compare that list with the report suite your analysts report on. [4]
- A. Wrong. Page Name shows the value of the `pageName` variable sent to Adobe Analytics. It says nothing about which report suite receives the hit.
- B. Right. For Adobe Analytics, the Summary screen lists the report suites. If the production report suite ID is not listed, the page does not send data to it.
- C. Wrong. Modules lists the modules loaded by Adobe Analytics, not report suites.
