Sample questions
Three questions from the AD0-E209 practice bank, with the answer and why each option is right or wrong.
Question 1
A regional bank adds the Adobe Visitor ID Service to an Adobe Analytics implementation that ran for years without it. Many returning visitors carry only the `s_fid` fallback cookie, and new visitors rise after launch. What explains the rise?
- A. Visitors with only `s_fid` get a new ECID, because the service does not copy the fallback ID.
- B. Visitors with only `s_vi` get a new ECID, because the service does not copy the legacy ID.
- C. Visitors with only `s_fid` get a new ECID, because the service waits for a grace period to copy it.
Answer: A. When the Visitor ID Service meets an existing Adobe Analytics visitor, the outcome depends on the cookie the visitor carries. An `s_vi` value is copied into the `AMCV` cookie and, because `aid` ranks above `mid`, keeps identifying the visitor. A visitor with only the `s_fid` fallback cookie gets a fresh ECID and counts as new. Plan for a rise in new visitors in proportion to the share of fallback visitors. [2]
- A. Right. Adobe's migration page says the service does not write the fallback ID (`fid`) to the `AMCV` cookie. Those visitors receive an ECID (`mid`) as if they were new, so they count as new unique visitors.
- B. Wrong. An existing `s_vi` value is the legacy Analytics ID (`aid`). Adobe says the service writes it to the `AMCV` cookie beside an ECID, and `aid` stays the identifier until that cookie expires or is cleared.
- C. Wrong. Adobe ties no grace period to copying a fallback ID. The service never writes `fid` to the `AMCV` cookie, with or without one.
Question 2
An Adobe Analytics SDR defines eVar9 as a counter eVar that adds +1 on each internal search. A buyer searches four times, then places an order. Which eVar9 item gets credit for the order?
- A. Each item from 1.00 to 4.00, one order apiece
- B. Only the 1.00 item, the total from the first search
- C. Only the 4.00 item, the total when the order happens
Answer: C. A counter eVar holds a running number in place of text. Each increment shows as an instance of the new total, and the value active when the success event happens takes the credit. Read Orders by a counter eVar as orders by the number of actions taken before the order. [3]
- A. Wrong. Each search creates an instance of its running total, but Adobe says only the final count receives credit for Orders and Revenue.
- B. Wrong. The first total is replaced as the visitor keeps searching. Adobe gives the credit to the total active at the purchase, 4.00.
- C. Right. Adobe's example says that if a visitor searches four times before a purchase, you see an instance for each total count, 1.00, 2.00, 3.00 and 4.00, but only 4.00 receives credit for the purchase event.
Question 3
An organization reports Adobe Target activities in Adobe Analytics through Analytics for Target (A4T) and plans to move from AppMeasurement to the Adobe Experience Platform Web SDK extension. How will A4T calls reach Adobe Analytics after the move?
- A. A4T calls are sent as `a.x.*` context data variables.
- B. A4T calls are sent as separate hits.
- C. A4T calls are included in the Adobe Analytics hits.
Answer: B. Adobe's comparison of implementation methods sets AppMeasurement, the Adobe Analytics extension, the Web SDK and the Web SDK extension side by side. One row covers A4T. With AppMeasurement and the Adobe Analytics extension, A4T calls are included in the hits sent to Adobe. With either Web SDK method, A4T calls are sent as separate hits. A team planning a move should expect that change in how its A4T data arrives. [4]
- A. Wrong. In the comparison, `a.x.*` context data variables carry unmapped fields for the Web SDK methods. A4T handling has its own row, and it reads as separate hits.
- B. Right. Adobe's comparison of implementation methods has a row for A4T handling. For the Web SDK and the Web SDK extension, it reads that A4T calls are sent as separate hits.
- C. Wrong. The comparison gives this handling to AppMeasurement and the Adobe Analytics extension. Both Web SDK methods send A4T calls as separate hits.
